August, 2011

Greetings from Mr. Lee,

Hi Guys and Gals,

Well, our big show at the Flying W, July 16th,  Medford, NJ was a great success! Thanks to all of you for attending and supporting our music and these two very fine groups. Hopefully, we'll be able to do it again.  Unfortunately, Frank DeNinno, the General Manager of the Flying W is retiring and to be honest I don't know how this will affect our status next year.  Also, I am uncertain of how things will shake out with the changes in the Encounters' lineup with the departure of Charlie DiComo. Regardless, it was great seeing you all there this July and I know you enjoyed the excellent performances by Kenny Vance and the Planotones and the Encounters, two very special groups.  We will see what can be arranged in the future.

Regrettably, I must report the passing of Dee Jaskel, the original second tenor of Street Corner Five, after succumbing to a very long battle with cancer.  Dee was there since the inception of the group and was a very good singer and fine woman. Her husband, Ron, was the manager of Street Corner Five and they made a very nice couple.  Condolences go out to her family, the group members and all her fans.
